East Midlands Water Company (EMWC) was founded by Hans van Kamp in 2007. The aim was to become a well-established water filtration company for the domestic market. Since the start, we have experienced a steady growth and our services have extended to include industrial and wastewater treatment systems as well. With our Whole House Water Filtration System (point of entry filtration), we have become a leader in the domestic market with systems installed all over the country, even as far as the Seychelles.
We became involved in industrial systems when we secured an import agreement for Berson as well as Hanovia UV systems. UV treatment is generally a part of a bigger system as a tertiary treatment method, thus pre-treatment and secondary filtration systems followed suit (e.g. RO and NF Systems, etc.). Wastewater systems were added to our portfolio range when customers requested that we provide systems that address all water related issues, not just clean water.
EMWC has grown significantly in the past 12 years, and our company structure has changed somewhat. EMWC Holdings (Pty) Ltd is our holding company which comprises of 2 sub-companies: EMWC International (Pty) Ltd and EMWC South Africa (Pty) Ltd. EMWC International focuses on the African market, as well as privately owned companies where they do not necessarily have to go out on Tender for projects. EMWC South Africa has a Level 2 BBBEE status, and its core focus is on the South African market and government-based organisations for which Tenders and formal RFQ’s are required in order to obtain projects.
We have completed projects for well-established companies such as Distell, Growth Point, Checkers, Chilled Beverages and many other industrial water treatment installations in the Stellenbosch winelands, schools, as well as domestic systems in estates and residences. We have also embarked on a big desalination installation in Mozambique, that is currently being executed.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent after sales service, and we have a fully functioning Maintenance department offering service level agreements (SLA) and maintenance contracts to ensure that our Clients are always well looked after.
